White Rabbit, white rabbit, white rabbit....

Hello lovely readers and followers. I know it's past the 1st of March, but it just seems quite spring like to say white rabbit..... and hopefully I'll get a present before the end of the day (or so the old saying goes anyway!)..... Can you believe we are in March already? In just over eight weeks time, Chloe and I will have been here in Gainford for two whole years and our little project will be celebrating another milestone. Admittedly the cafe didn't open until July but things were going on behind the scenes even now, two years ago! Wow! It's hard to believe.

Firstly, we'd like to say a HUUUUUGE Thank You to those of you who attended our Supper Club last weekend. The 'Curry Night' was a great success with all tables sold out! The atmosphere was great and everyone who came along was very complimentary about the food. We received some lovely follow up messages too on Sunday - so that was lovely. We really do appreciate you all, our very loyal, lovely customers. It's hard work doing the evenings, given that we are here all day until late, but knowing how much people enjoy coming along makes is all worthwhile. Our next - and final supper club event until autumn, will be our 'Pie and Peas' night. But this is not just any old pie and peas.... no, this is juicy butchers meat pie and home made mushy peas.... mmmmmm The event is already getting booked up fast, so call and secure a table ASAP Tel: 01325 730567 :)

And don't despair, although the Supper Club will be ceasing for the time being, we will try and look at staying opening later at least one Saturday per month, we're thinking of serving our delicious platters, flatbreads and a glass of wine or two... so keep following us and popping in for updates.

Another one for the diary is our Mother's Day afternoon tea on Saturday 21st March. Now, we know that Saturday 21st isn't officially Mother's Day, but since we're currently closed on Sunday's until around Easter time (Sunday re-opening announcement coming soon), we thought you might treat Mum to a whole weekend of treats, so two days instead of one ;) The Afternoon Tea includes a glass of fizz each and each Mum will receive a little gift too! We're happy to offer kiddies afternoon teas if you want to bring them along, but if you fancy a relaxing afternoon, maybe leave them with Dad or Grandad for a couple of hours??!! Booking is essential and a £5pp deposit required to book. Call 01325 730567 full details on the website.

Our small clothing selection is again proving extremely popular, and as fast as things arrive, they sell out! This is great news for us, so we will hopefully be extending our range and adding new items again very soon. A lovely idea to come with Mum and do some shopping.....have a peep at the clothes, as well as other gifts, jewellery and choccies for Mother's Day - or indeed any day!! Why not treat yourself eh :)

We're currently running a competition for our followers on social media, in perfect timing for Mother's Day too (anyone is welcome to enter though)... We're giving away one of our gorgeous Joma "little" bracelets, an ideal gift for that special someone. Pop over to our Facebook or Instagram page to enter!

As a special Thank You to our regular readers and subscribers, we are offering £5 off any Powder Scarf up until and including 21st March if you quote "White Rabbit" when visiting us. This will help us to know who is reading our Newsletter and Blog. These scarves are amongst our best selling items - no wonder when they are so beautiful and colourful. Currently we have the squirrel design, the hare and the deer as well as a few florals - but best get in quick.

This months blog is quite short - thought I'd better cut it down after last months extended version.... But just to let you know, we are keeping our eyes on the news and updates re. the Corona virus. We are ensuring everything is clean and scrubbed and bleached in the Winstonberry kitchen, so please be assured we are doing our best to do our bit! If you do have coughs and colds, stay warm and stay home seems to be the best advice currently.

You must not miss next months news - keep eyes peeled as we have something VERY exciting to share... No, not telling yet!! You'll have to wait.....

Enjoy the spring weather now that it has finally made an appearance, enjoy the spring bulbs emerging. In just a few more days (if the sunshine continues), Gainford's village green will be ablaze with all the golden daffodils very soon. It really is a pretty sight and a very good reason to pop along and enjoy an afternoon of coffee, cake and delicious savouries.

We hope to see you all for coffee and cakes and more very soon,

Dawn, Chloè and The Team x
